Hosted in conjunction with Banco Business Park and featuring more than 20 organizations, Rep. Dunbar's recent Veterans Resource Expo helped to connect Westmoreland County veterans of all ages with a wide variety of employment opportunities, benefits, programs and services available to them through local, state and federal agencies. Representative Dunbar speaks to Penn Trafford High School Honor Students. Representative Dunbar presented the top 5 percent of graduating students from Norwin School District with legislative citations as part of the Norwin Chamber of Commerce's annual Excellence in Education ceremony. As a member of the PA House State Government Committee, Representative Dunbar voted in favor of legislation to reduce the size of the PA House of Representatives from 203 to 153 members or by 25 percent. Approved by a margin of 16-8, House Bill 153 now advances to the full House floor for consideration. Representative Dunbar was honored to deliver remarks during the 12th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast held at Irwin Moose Lodge 236. Rep. George Dunbar was on hand for a presentation from the Bridge Educational Foundation at Aquinas Academy in Greensburg. The contribution on behalf of AWI and CSX Transportation is used for scholarships to students in need and is part of the state’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit. Numerous residents turned out and participated in Rep. George Dunbar’s town hall meeting Nov. 10 at the Norwin School Board Chambers in North Huntingdon. This interactive forum provided a unique opportunity for local residents to share suggestions, ask questions and offer solutions on how to address your most important legislative concerns both at home and in Harrisburg. Representative Dunbar answers questions during his recent Small Business Town Hall Meeting. Co-sponsored by the Norwin Chamber of Commerce, this event provided local business leaders, owners and employers with opportunities to discuss issues pertaining to taxation and regulation in Pennsylvania. Kevin Shivers, Director of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Businesses was the featured speaker. Representative Dunbar participated in the ribbon cutting for Jeannette's South Sixth Street revitalization project. Lots of new three bedroom units are now available! Representative Dunbar enjoyed serving lunch to several dedicated Aspinwall veterans at the Jeannette American Legion. Representative Dunbar addresses attendees during a recent Super Seniors Summer Picnic. Representative Dunbar was a popular participant in this year's Jeannette Community Days Parade. Representative Dunbar participates in the ribbon cutting for Baldock Healthcare's new facility. As a member of the Pennsylvania House State Government Committee, Representative Dunbar participated in the second of a series of joint statewide hearings with the Pennsylvania Senate to receive testimony and collect public input on Congressional redistricting in Cranberry Township, Butler County. Representative Dunbar updates members of the Veterans of American Legion Auxiliary Post 260 in Claridge on the state budget process. Representative Dunbar recently visited with concerned seniors at Redstone Highlands. Discussion topics ranged from economic and environmental impacts of Marcellus Shale drilling to the effect impending budget cuts will have on seniors. Rep. George Dunbar (R-Westmoreland) today took the oath of office to represent the people of the 56th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Representative Dunbar explores a deep-well natural gas operation located in Fairfield Township. Rep. Dunbar attends the 2010 D.A.R.E. graduation ceremony for 5th graders at Harrison Park Elementary school. Special thanks to Office Supancic, who runs the program. Twenty-one new Republican legislators will join the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 2011-2012 session.
