PENN TWP. – Rep. George Dunbar (R-Westmoreland) announced today that he is hosting two Budget and Tax Forums to allow District 56 residents to discuss the 2017-18 state budget.

“Passage of the state budget is the most important policy matter that state government deals with on an annual basis and the number of ‘moving parts’ makes it that much more complex to deliver a fiscally sound budget that does not burden taxpayers,” said Dunbar, who serves as vice chairman of both the House Appropriations and Finance committees. “These interactive Budget and Tax Forums offer a unique opportunity for District 56 residents to share input, ask questions and offer solutions regarding this year’s budget process.”

Dunbar’s first Budget and Tax Forum will be held at the Penn Township Municipal Building, 2001 Municipal Court, Harrison City, on Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m. The second forum will be held at The Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin, on Thursday, May 11, at 7 p.m.

The 56th Legislative District covers part of Westmoreland County and includes part of the townships of Hempfield, North Huntington and Penn; and the boroughs of Irwin, Manor, North Irwin, and Trafford.
